Following are some questions that we have been asked. Hopefully the answers will help you to better understand why a Do-it-Yourself tour will help you to enjoy a wonderful day in the wine country. We introduce you to the best wineries ... with less work ... and more fun.

What is a DIY tour?

A Do-it-Yourself tour is a plan for the day that you follow on your own without a tour guide. You decide where you go, and how long you stay there. You can hire a driver if you want, and we have relations with several if you would like one. But even if you hire a driver, you are still in control of what wineries you visit and how long you stay there.

Why do I need a tour?

People often head to the wine country without a plan of which wineries to visit, or have only selected the major well known wineries. There are some incredible wineries in Napa & Sonoma, producing some of the finest wines in the wine country, but they are not well known. The reason is simple, their production is not large enough to distribute throughout the country, and therefore, their names do not become familiar. We help you find and visit these hidden boutique wineries, that provide a wonderful tasting experience. We will help you plan an incredible day of visiting wineries like a local.

Cant I find wineries on my own?

Absolutley! There are over 800 different wineries in Napa & Sonoma, many with OPEN signs in their driveway welcoming you in.  We have visited over 250 of the wineries and narrowed it down to the best of the best.  We provide you with all the information you need to visit the best wineries, and we even recommended the order to visit them.  Where possible, we include a recommendation for a convenient winery for a picnic lunch. No stress, less wasted time, and lots more fun.  With a DIY tour you still determine how to spend your day but we help you get to the best wineries, not just the ones that are on the road along the way.

Information about the wineries is available all over the internet, why do I need to purchase one of your tours?

For the most part, you can find all the information you need on the internet. There are some small wineries that are much harder to find, but there are plenty of wineries that can be found through internet search engines, articles and books. Finding wineries in Napa & Sonoma isn’t the hard part. Deciding which ones are the best wineries to visit is the difficult task. We have spent hundreds of hours researching and visiting wineries. For $19.95 we will share that information with you, eliminating the need to spend countless hours researching wineries.

What if I don’t like one of the wineries you recommended?

We want you to be completely satisfied with your tour! Most of our DIY tours include one or two alternate wineries to provide you with flexibility.  If for any reason you want to replace one of the recommended wineries in your tour, call us and we will provide you with additional alternatives.

I already have a list of wineries to visit; will you review it for me?

Yes! Our goal is to help you enjoy a wonderful day in the wine country. If you have a list of wineries, but are unsure as to whether you are visiting unique and interesting wineries, send it to us at info@harvestwinetours.com. If it is a great day of wineries we will be happy to tell you that.

Where does the tour begin?

The start of your tour varies depending upon which tour you select. If you select a tour of Napa Valley your tour will begin in Napa. If you select a tour of Sonoma County your tour will begin in Sonoma. Although it is possible to visit wineries in both Napa and Sonoma in one day that requires a lot of drive time so we usually limit our tours to visit wineries within either Napa Valley or Sonoma County.

Does the tour include a driver and transportation?

No. But we have relationships with several different limousine services and driving services. We can obtain, or recommend, someone that will transport you for the day, either in their vehicle or yours.
