Domaine Carneros is the chateau you see rising above Duhig Road, and it is as much a landmark as a winery. Michael's ambiance score of 9 reflects that; the terrace looking out over the Carneros vineyards is one of the best places to sit in either county.
Beyond the setting, this is a small grower-producer of methode traditionnelle sparkling wine and estate Pinot Noir, made from their own vineyards rather than bought-in fruit. Founding winemaker Eileen Crane's line, that the first obligation of a great wine is to be delicious, still guides the house. Chardonnay and Rose complete the range. Tours and tastings are by reservation. It is the obvious flagship stop on a Napa sparkling wine tour.
